对照读物《Dunhuang敦煌》

      Dunhuang is in the west end of the Hexi Corridor of Gansu Province of China. It is one of the well-known Chinese historical and cultural cities and an important town on the ancient Silk Road. Its area is about 31.2 thousand square kilometers and the population is approximately one hundred thousand.

      Dunhuang’s ancient name was Shazhou. Dunhuang was made a prefecture in the Yuan Ding sixth year (111 B.C.) of the Han Dynasty by the decree of Emperor Wu Di. During the Han and Tang Dynasties the Eastern and the Western cultures intermingled here and formed the splendid Dunhuang culture. It left a number of relics and historical scenic spots. There are: world famous art treasure grottoes –Mogao Grottoes; “Desert Wonders”–Mingsha Hill, the Crescent Moon Lake, the important Han Dynasty Yumen Pass, Yangguan Pass and the ruins of the Great Wall. Unique scenery of the Silk Road unfolds before you, enchanting and breath-taking at every step you go ahead.

    敦煌,位于中国甘肃省河西走廊的西端,是我国历史文化名城之一,也是古代丝绸之路上的一个重要城镇。总面积3.12万平方公里,人口十余万。

    敦煌,古称沙洲。汉武帝元鼎六年(公元前111年)设置敦煌郡。汉唐时代,东西方文化在这里交汇,形成灿烂的敦煌文化,留下了许多名胜古迹。其中有闻名世界的艺术宝窟——莫高窟;有被称为“沙漠奇观”的鸣沙山、月牙泉;有汉代重要关隘玉门关、阳关和长城遗址……丝路风情,千姿百态,引人入胜。
