join…to强调原来形体清楚地分离的事物之间的结合，常指直接的连接，connect…with指通过某种连接物把具体事务（或人）或抽象概念连接起来。

Africa is actually connected with Asia at the Suez Canal. 非洲实际上在苏伊士运河和亚洲相连。

以下三种情况，只能用connect…with不能用join…to
